LATEST NEWS: The Atlanta Braves have just signed him to a contract worth $200 million.

All offseason Vaughn Grissom has seen his name in numerous trade rumors. Alex Anthopoulos constantly stated how much they believed in the talent Grissom possesses, but as the offseason continued it became more and more clear that Grissom would have a tough time getting regular AB’s in Atlanta.

Finally just before the end of the 2023 calendar year, Grissom was moved in a trade for Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale. The trade doesn’t come without risk, but if Sale can stay healthy (big if) then this is a good trade for Atlanta. That doesn’t mean Grissom won’t be missed in the Braves clubhouse. In particular, the connection Grissom has with Michael Harris II brought out some heartbreaking reactions once the news broke.

The Troublemakers highlights end before they really even get started

In 2022 the Braves were aggressive, per usual, in their promotions of MH2 and Grissom. Harris II debuted in late May, and went on to win NL Rookie of the Year. Later that season in early August, the Braves called up then 21 year-old Vaughn Grissom to try and fill the void at second base due to the Ozzie Albies injury.
