Dwight Powell’s time in Dallas may be nearing to an end now that the Mavericks have signed Dereck Lively II and Richaun Holmes as new frontcourt players… He may, however, stay in Texas.

With only five days to the opening of NBA free agency, rumors are starting to surface as teams perfect their pitches to prospective free agents.

To name a few, the Dallas Mavericks have been linked to several free agent and trade rumors, including Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors, Grant Williams of the Boston Celtics, Kyle Kuzma of the Washington Wizards, Bruce Brown of the Denver Nuggets, Tobias Harris of the Philadelphia 76ers, and Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns.

Powell has been with the Mavs for nine seasons and has been Luka Doncic’s favorite pick-and-roll partner for the last five years. Although he’s limited, Powell’s effort will always give him a chance of getting minutes, whether it’s in Dallas or another city. If his time in Dallas is truly up, perhaps he can still stay in Texas when the dust settles.
