Coventry City fixtures from CoventryLive as the Sky Blues kick-off away, have a happy homely Christmas and end the season at the CBS Arena
Coventry City will kick-off the new Championship season away at Stoke where they have won on three of their last four unbeaten visits in the league. That will be a televised lunchtime kick-off (12.30) on Saturday, August 10.
The Sky Blues’ first home game of the campaign comes a week later with a traditional 3pm kick-off against newly promoted Oxford United at the CBS Arena, before trips to Bristol City and a home clash with one of the promotion favourites, Norwich City, completing the opening month of the season.
Fans have to wait until November and early December for their first taste of what passes as a local derby these days when they entertain Derby County (Weds, Nov 6) and travel to West Brom (Dec 11).
And one of the most anticipated fixtures of the schedule comes on November 9 when the Sky Blue Army travels to bitter rivals Sunderland, with the return fixture not until March 15.
Christmas has been kind to City this time around, with Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth at home on Boxing Day, followed by Millwall at the CBS a few days later on December 29, although there’s a sting in the tail of the festive fixtures with a New Year’s Day trip to Cardiff.
Easter, similarly, is a mixed bag with West Brom at home on Good Friday before a long Bank Holiday Monday trek to Home Park to take on Plymouth Argyle. Those fixtures come ahead of the final two, with a tough game at Luton in the penultimate game of the season, and Middlesbrough at home on the last day.
