Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as the Sky Blues are understood to be in talks with Hull City who want to sign former Chelsea prospect Kasey Palmer
Coventry City are in talks with Championship rivals Hull City over a deal to sign playmaker Kasey Palmer before Friday night’s 11pm deadline.
The news emerged on Thursday evening with just over 24 hours until the summer window slams shut, with the Tigers having approached the Sky Blues over a move for the 27-year-old who came through the ranks at Chelsea, but is out of contract at the CBS Arena next summer and is yet to agree fresh terms.
Palmer has featured in all three of Coventry ’s Championship games so far this season but has yet to start, though he did come off the bench to score the equaliser at Bristol City on Saturday to earn his side a point, against one of his former clubs.
Our sister title HullLive understood that significant progress in the deal has been made and Palmer could pen terms on a permanent deal at the MKM Stadium which would see him agree to a three-year contract in East Yorkshire.
If Palmer does move it would leave Mark Robins short in terms of recognised number 10s other than Jack Rudoni and may well pave the way for a late deadline day deal for a new playmaker.
No stranger to Yorkshire, Palmer had two spells on loan at Huddersfield Town during his spell at Chelsea, before heading to Derby County and Blackburn Rovers. In 2019, his loan move to Ashton Gate was made permanent, and then he went to Swansea City on loan prior to making a permanent switch to Coventry in 2022.
