Danny Rohl believes Coventry City’s “time will come” to make the step forward as a club despite a stuttering start to the new Championship campaign.
The Sky Blues are struggling to get their season going, clearly lacking consistency after blowing hot and cold so far this term, the latest example of which was when they thumped in-form Blackburn Rovers 3-0 on Tuesday night and then failed to back that up when they lost 2-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
Asked if he thinks Mark Robins’ side will be a threat in the division and fighting at the top end this season, the German told CoventryLive: “When you look at the history of Coventry it is always a tough place to go and they always have good players, make good signings and they have invested and improved the squad.
“But the expectation is not just here in Coventry, it is with everyone, even Sheffield Wednesday after last season, it is now higher and higher.”
He added: “I think Coventry in the last season was always a tough place, we didn’t get one point, just one draw in the cup there. But today was a great team performance; another small step in our journey, nothing more, and we still have to improve in lots of parts and this is the job in the next two weeks beside recover.”
