Milton Oni Signs First Professional Contract
Young midfielder takes his next step after a promising season with the academy
Eighteen-year-old prospect Milton Oni has penned his first professional contract at Colchester United after a promising season within the Academy.
Oni made a number of appearances for the U18s and U21s in the 2023/24 campaign, as well as enjoying a successful stint on loan at Maldon & Tiptree with Liam Bailey.
The fourth youngster to sign their first professional deal with the club over the last few weeks, Milton says he enjoyed his experiences towards the end of last season and is looking forward to seeing what he can do in the next twelve months.
I’ve worked really hard for this. I want to thank the managers and staff at Colchester who have been really supportive and helped me to get to this point. I’m ready to kick on now.
“All my experiences last season really pushed me and built me up for this moment. There has been a lot of help from Elliot Ward and Liam Bailey, those two in particular and obviously the gaffers (Danny & Nicky).”
Milton joins Kien Connolly, Max Jolliffe and Harrison Chamberlain as the latest members within the academy to score their first professional contracts, and will link up with the squad for pre-season in the coming weeks.
