DONE DEAL: Coventry City sign Swedish super Dovin from Hammarby

COVENTRY City have completed the signing of Swedish goalkeeper Oliver Dovin from Hammarby for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Sky Blues, keeping him at the Coventry Building Society Arena until 2028.

Dovin has won two senior caps for Sweden. He previously represented his country at under-17, under-19 and under-21 level.

Coventry manager Mark Robins said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Oliver to Coventry City.

“Oliver is a highly rated goalkeeper whose progress we have followed for some time, and he will add further quality and competition to our goalkeeping group.

“He is a strong physical presence in goal, a good shot stopper and able to distribute the ball well too.

The London-born goalkeeper, of a Swedish mother, moved to Sweden at the age of one.

He signed his first professional contract with Hammarby in August 2018.

Dovin helped Hammarby win the Swedish Cup in 2020/21 and made five appearances in the UEFA Conference League during his time with the club.

He made 73 appearances for Hammarby and also spent time on loan at IK Frej and Hammarby TFF.

Dovin’s arrival could mean the Sky Blues allow one of their two current first team goalkeeper, Bradley Collins and Ben Wilson, to leave the club.
