Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as reports from Sweden claim the Sky Blues are close to completing a deal for highly-rated goalkeeper
Coventry City are close to completing the signing of Sweden international Oliver Dovin, with reports in the Scandinavian press claiming the club are just “details” away from a final deal.
The 22-year-old Hammarby IF goalkeeper – seen as one of the best in the Swedish Allsvenskan top flight – is reported to be costing the Sky Blues “just over” 20million krona (£1.4m). Rival publication Sportbladet last week claimed the player had been valued at 30m kr (£2.2m). It is claimed there will be a sell-on clause in any deal, ensuring Hammarby will benefit from any future sale of the player who is tipped for a big international career.
Swedish newspaper Expressen headlines their story, “Coventry City are detailing the signing of Oliver Dovin,” and says that if the “last thing is resolved and nothing unexpected happens,” then Dovin will move to the Championship.
The article reads: “According to information to Expressen, Coventry City FC are just details away from signing the goalkeeper from the Stockholm club for around SEK 20 million.
“Oliver Dovin has long been a given first goalkeeper in Hammarby IF and in total the 22-year-old has made 84 appearances for the club which he is now leaving to play in England.
“There are only a few details left before the deal is concluded, and Dovin finally gets an exciting adventure abroad. Just over 1.7m Euros, and Hammarby is also entitled to a resale clause.”
It adds: “Oliver Dovin has been one of the Allsvenskan’s best goalkeepers in recent seasons and his performances have also resulted in eight U21 internationals for Sweden.”
