Leeds United injury news as striker back in mix to face Coventry City

Coventry City travel to Elland Road on Saturday (3pm kick-off) facing a tough task as Mark Robins seeks a pick-me-up to the club’s Championship form against a Leeds United side looking to cement their position in the top six.

And Whites’ boss Daniel Farke is boosted by the fact that striker Patrick Bamford could return to the starting line-up against the Sky Blues after recovering from a hamstring strain that has limited him to just two league appearances so far this term.

The 31-year-old was on the bench as an unused sub for last weekend’s 2-0 win at Cardiff City, having not been involved since August 17. But with another week of training under his belt, the goal scorer could be set for a return.

Elsewhere, Manor Solomon – United’s loan summer signing from Tottenham was a doubt for Saturday’s clash at Cardiff due to back problems and failed to make the bench. It remains to be seen if he is back in the mix for the visit of Coventy.

And Austrian international defender Max Wober returned from a knee compliant for light training last week, after which Farke was waiting to see how the 26-year-old’s body would react. Farke said a late decision would be taken regarding his involvement at Cardiff where Wober failed to make the bench, leading to obvious elements of doubt for this weekend.

Finally, Dan James is the one confirmed definite absentee, with the Wales international winger currently sidelined with a hamstring injury until potentially the October international break.
