Hull City are not interested in signing Sheffield Wednesday attacker Josh Windass, as detailed in a report by HullLive.
Hull City have been linked with a swoop for the forward this summer along with fellow Championship side Coventry City. They are preparing for their first season under new boss Tim Walter following his appointment after Liam Rosenior’s surprise sacking.
Windass, 30, has rejected a final contract offer from Sheffield Wednesday, according to a report by Football Insider, and will now head out the exit door at Hillsborough as a free agent. His deal in South Yorkshire officially expires at the end of the month and he will be weighing up his options.
As per HullLive, the Tigers are not trying to lure him to East Yorkshire and have other more ambitious targets in mind. They finished 7th in the table last term and were three points off the play-offs in the end.

Windass is a name that usually gets linked with Hull City in transfer windows. His father, Dean, scored one of the most famous goals in the Tigers’ history back in 2008 in the play-off final against Bristol City at Wembley.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl has penned a new contract this summer but may need to start identifying possible replacements.
Windass has been with the Owls since 2020 and has scored 37 goals in 126 games in all competitions, seven of which came last term to help them stay up in the second tier.
The Hull-born man played for Huddersfield Town’s academy before having spells at Accrington Stanley, Rangers and Wigan Athletic.
He has been an important player for Sheffield Wednesday over recent years but is now poised to embark on a new chapter in his career.
What next for Hull City?
If Windass was to follow in his dad’s footsteps and join his local team Hull City, he would give them more competition and depth in attacking areas. He would struggle to start ahead of the likes of Ozan Tufan and Abdulkadir Omur though.
It appears they are looking elsewhere for players in his position though as Walter looks to put his own stamp on the squad.
The Tigers have a few vacancies to fill in their squad, especially up front with Noah Ohio, Liam Delap, Billy Sharp and Aaron Connolly all leaving at the end of the last campaign.
