Vici Private Finance are the latest suitors to open talks with the club’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri since 777 Partners’ exclusivity deal expired.
The UK investment firm join Andy Bell and George Downing, MSP Sports Capital and a consortium led by Vatche Manoukian in the battle for the Blues.
Vici’s proposal is an all-equity offer that will not add further debt to the Goodison Park outfit and said to be backed up by proof of up to £1bn in cash.
Keith Harris, who previously assisted ex-chairman Bill Kenwright’s investment search and served as an Everton director, is advising the group on their bid.
The football financier developed a reputation for assisting with takeovers of several English clubs, including Roman Abramovich’s acquisition of Chelsea.
According to the Times, Vici have also spoken with senior local politicians about plans to regenerate the area surrounding Bramley-Moore Dock.
