New: Everton Creditors Display chances of seizing club control from Farhad Moshiri

Two companies could seize control of Everton from Farhad Moshiri after 777 Partners’ takeover collapses, according to Josimar.

The outlet reported on its website on Friday (31 May) that the Toffees’ major creditors, MPS Sports Capital and Rights and Media Funding Limited could come to an understanding to acquire Moshiri’s controlling stake at Goodison Park.

Alternatively, the two companies could force Sean Dyche’s side into administration, however, it is understood that neither party is keen to see the Toffees suffer such a fate.

But, neither MSP Sports Capital nor Rights and Media Funding are interested in becoming owners on the blue half of Merseyside, leaving their position in a place of limbo.

What is happening with 777 Partners’ Everton takeover at Goodison Park?

777 Partners’ takeover has now completely collapsed as the deadline has passed for the Miami-based investment firm to complete its acquisition. That means Moshiri now has to begin looking for alternative buyers once again [The Times, 30 May].

Bidders are expected to be waiting in the wings at Goodison Park to make their interest known and while Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor has been the most prominent party involved, he isn’t expected to be the only one.

However, throughout this entire process, both MSP Sports Capital and Rights and Media Funding have made it clear that they have no interest in acquiring Moshiri’s controlling stake and that doesn’t appear to have changed now.

It is good news for the football club and its supporters however that neither creditor has any interest in seeing the Blues enter administration. Such a prospect has become a genuine threat over the last few months and it is good to see that the creditors aren’t pushing for it to happen.Hopefully, Moshiri will be able to find a new buyer sooner rather than later so this whole circus can be brought to an end.
