When Jets sent Elija Moore to Cleveland and rewarded on laps second and three laps, he saw how New York Jets and Cleveland’s eyebrows were integrated with similar types of trade. This deal is even better than that one. Christian Watson has trade priority, and the Packers will add another premium pick. That’s a high price to pay considering Watson’s injury history, but let’s assume the Giants pursue a non-WR in the first round. They could work out a similar deal to acquire the talented Watson, giving the Packers a chance to draft one of the most athletic linebackers in this year’s class. Even if the problem could somehow be solved, the bottom line is that it can never be solved.
Initially, it didn’t make sense for the Packers to trade Christian Watson. It’s only been two seasons since the team selected him in the 2022 draft.
Drafted 34th overall, Watson became Green Bay’s most prolific receiver since Javon Walker in 2002. Watson appears to be the player many have been waiting for after years of preparation, with fans and critics encouraging Brian Gutekunst to select a wide receiver early in the draft.
He provided a potential offensive building block for Matt LaFleur with his unique combination of speed and size. But injuries have derailed his young career so far. He missed many games in his first two seasons due to continued hamstring problems. Injuries are the only reason Watson hasn’t had the impact fans expected. It would be a mistake to let him go before he gets a chance to play a full season. partner:
