BREAKING NEWS: Ipswich Town in advanced talks to sign Anel Ahmedhodzic

Ipswich Town are in advanced talks with Sheffield United over a potential deal for centre-back Anel Ahmedhodzic, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League new boys have pulled ahead of Wolves in the race to sign the 25-year-old.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (19 August) that Gary O’Neil’s side are monitoring the centre-back’s situation at Bramall Lane.

The Molineux club had been struggling to come up with the funds to complete their summer transfer business and Ipswich have now moved ahead of them in the race for Ahmedhodzic.

Bosnia and Herzegovina international Ahmedhodzic has played 90 minutes in both of Sheffield United’s Championship fixtures this term.

He was also a regular for the Blades last season as they finished rock bottom of the Premier League table.

His contract at Bramall Lane is set to run until June 2026 and Ahmedhodzic has made 24 appearances for his country, scoring once.

Ipswich have made nine signings so far in the summer transfer window, including the permanent arrival of Omari Hutchinson and a loan deal for Kalvin Phillips.
