Jacob Greaves has passed his medical at Ipswich Town ahead of a move from Hull City, sources have told Football Insider.
Both parties have reached a full agreement and personal terms were agreed before the completion of medical tests.
Ipswich are expected to officially confirm their new signing within 24 hours.
Sources say Greaves, 23, has signed a five-year contract which will see him remain at Portman Road until the summer of 2029.
Football Insider revealed on 8 July that a medical had been booked for the centre-back, while they remain keen on the arrival of his Hull teammate Jaden Philogene.
Jacob Greaves set to sign for Ipswich Town after medical
Ipswich won promotion by finishing second in the Championship last time out and have moved quickly to strengthen their side.
Their first move this summer was to tie Kieran McKenna down to a new deal amid interest from Chelsea and Brighton, and they have now moved on to the transfer market.
The Tractor Boys have already completed the club-record signing of Omari Hutchinson after his impressive loan spell, with Greaves set to join him in making the move.
Greaves was a vital part of Hull’s team which narrowly missed out on the playoffs last season, attracting plenty of admirers in the Premier League.
However, it was Ipswich who moved quickly to secure his signature.
Philogene has also been a high-profile target for McKenna, but a late move from Aston Villa means the decision no longer rests with the club.
McKenna and the recruitment team at Portman Road have targeted younger options to improve their team not just now but for the long-term future.
They will be looking to achieve survival in the Premier League and feel Greaves will play a crucial part in helping to achieve their goal.
