Ipswich Town forward Sone Aluko has announced his retirement from professional football.
The 35-year-old, who joined the Blues in August 2021, made more than 60 appearances in all competitions across three seasons for Town.
The former Nigerian international played 14 times during Kieran McKenna’s side’s promotion from Sky Bet League One to the Championship, but only featured once in this season’s promotion to the Premier League.
Aluko’s first professional game came in 2007/08 at Aberdeen, who he went onto make almost 100 appearances for either side of a loan spell at Blackpool.
All the best in your retirement, Sone. 💙 pic.twitter.com/shobcNgxYs
