Ipswich Town are keen to bolster their squad this summer ahead of what will be a gruelling task of surviving in the Premier League following promotion this season.
The Tractor Boys have already completed their most astute piece of business of the transfer market when the club announced that Kieran McKenna had penned a new four-year deal, keeping him at Portman Road until 2028 at the earliest, having guided the Suffolk-based outfit to back-to-back promotions to the top-flight to become the first team since Southampton in 2012 to pull off this incredible feat.
This unprecedented promotion has allowed Ipswich to reap the financial fruits of Premier League football at long last. Over the past few weeks, football finance expert Kieran Maguire has predicted that the club will make £150 million for just one season in the top-flight. In comparison, the East Anglian side made £37 million the last time they played in the Premier League over two decades ago.
Now, Ipswich Town will have some wiggle room in the summer to strengthen the squad. There have already been a number of names on the recruitment department’s list, including Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Carl Rushworth. Furthermore, Sussex World released a report on Tuesday night claiming that Ipswich are hoping to bring Jeremy Sarmiento back to the club after the attacker spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Portman Road and the first at West Bromwich Albion.
