Ipswich Town target “required cash for the project” Player intimidated for attitude

Earlier this week, reports from the Greek media reported that Ipswich Town placed a €25m bid for Panathinaikos forward Fotis Ioannidis.

It was said his club turned down the offer, as there are many more clubs wishing to sign him and there could be bigger amounts on the table.

Sporting had been another club who were pursuing Ioannidis, and newspaper Record has something to say about that today.

With the Lions also failing to sign Ioannidis, they bring a headline saying the player ‘preferred money to the project’, as the arguments offered by the Lions were apparently not enough.

It’s then said that Sporting have taken the player’s name off their list, recalling that Ipswich’s offer was dismissed as well.

There are now other clubs said to be chasing the forward, such as Bologna and Lille.

For now, it remains unclear whether Ipswich Town would give the signing another shot. It’s not like they’re competing against any European giants, and if it’s money that Ioannidis wants, Premier League clubs normally have good conditions to fight the competitors.
