Kaizer Chiefs have some reshuffling to do in upcoming Betway Premiership clashes against Richards Bay and Royal AM.
Amakhosi must do without Miguel for two clashes
Inacio Miguel will miss Chiefs’ next two matches in the Betway Premiership. The impressive 28-year-old Angolan was handed a straight red card against Mamelodi Sundowns in the 54th minute of Amakhosi’s 4-0 hammering in the Carling Knockout quarters. Maybe it’s not the end of the world though, as the man from Petro de Luanda is now sitting out his second suspension as a Chiefs players and some time out of the limelight might be what he needs.
Msimango steps in for Kaizer Chiefs
Nasreddine Nabi’s team selections in the Betway Premiership make it obvious that his preferred central defensive pairing is Rushwin Dortley and Inacio Miguel. The pair started Chiefs’ first four league matches together; Msimango started in the 2-2 draw against Magesi because of Miguel’s suspension for an accumulation of yellows. Now, after the Angolan’s latest two-match suspension after his dismissal against Sundowns in the Carling Knockout, Msimango gets another chance. Will he step up and take it? If he doesn’t, his days at Naturena could be numbered.
Four PSL midfielders on the wish list
According to SoccerLaduma, Amakhosi are closely following Puso Dithejane’s performance with TS Galaxy. The former academy product from Naturena has thrived in the number 10 role for Sead Ramovic’s side since his acrimonious departure from Naturena. According to the same publication, Thato Khiba is also a wanted man. The 28-year-old TS Galaxy defender is a versatile operator and Orlando Pirates have registered an interest and are willing to loan players out in order to facilitate a deal in January. Carling Knockout holders Stellenbosch are also keen on the former Chiefs DDC player.
“For now, there are other clubs that have joined the race for his services. First, it was the Pirates who showed interest first, and then the Chiefs, followed by Stellenbosch FC, have also inquired about him,” a source told SoccerLaduma.
Transfermarkt estimates the collective value of these four players to stand somewhere around R37 million.
