Kaizer Chiefs not only appointed a new coach but also acquired seven new players for the season.

When Nasreddine Nabi was named as the new coach, some fans were sceptical of the Tunisian mentor despite his success with Young Africans of Tanzania. Before he joined the team, Nabi had to conclude the Botola Pro League with FAR Rabat.

Upon arrival, the ex-Yanga coach immediately made changes and signed players he wanted. We look at five of the best Kaizer Chiefs players this season, with the majority of them being newly signed.

Gaston Sirino

A lot was said about the Uruguayan even before he played a single game for Chiefs. He was compared to the likes of Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro, who left Mamelodi Sundowns as stars only to flop at Amakhosi.

Sirino has without a doubt been Kaizer Chiefs’ best player this season.

Miguel Inacio

The Angolan international has brought leadership and calmness at the back. He along with Rushwin Dortely have formed a formidable centre pairing for Nabi’s team.

Kaizer Chiefs are back to winning ways

Mduduzi Chabalala

The 20-year-old midfielder has excelled under Nabi this season. He has played all four matches across all competitions for Kaizer Chiefs, scoring one goal.

Bradley Cross

The former Golden Arrows left-back has fitted well under Nabi’s system. Since joining Kaizer Chiefs, Cross has been solid on the left side of defence and his play in the team looks secured.

Ranga Chivaviro

Aside from Sirino, Ranga has been Amakhosi’s important player this campaign so far. The former Marumo Gallants striker has netted three times in the four games he has played.
