Former Kaizer Chiefs player finds club after 7 months

Former Kaizer Chiefs left-back Sibusiso Mabiliso was fortunate to find a well-established club like AmaZulu after Amakhosi, but moves don’t always work out in football.

EXITS FROM KAIZER CHIEFS AND AMAZULU

August 2022 saw Mabiliso leave Amakhosi after just appearances in gold and black. The former Platinum Stars defender was later released by AmaZulu in January after just two matches for the 25-year-old star from Legid, North West.

Following a few months of unemployment, the former Kaizer Chiefs number three has signed for Baroka FC in the lower Motsepe Foundation Championship.

“Baroka Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Sibusiso Mabiliso on a one-year contract. The 23-year-old played for Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu Football Club. Welcome Moroka,” the Limpopo giants announced.

KAIZER CHIEFS ANNOUNCE INACIO MIGUEL

Kaizer Chiefs supporters finally got to see Inacio Miguel in action on Saturday night. What motivated his decision to join Amakhosi?

Amakhosi made seven new signings and among the new faces was the 28-year-old Angolan central defender Inacio Miguel.

“The Portuguese-born defender was an integral part of the Petro de Luanda team that participated in the Caf Champions League and won Angola’s domestic league title last season. He has also appeared five times in Angolan national team colours,” Kaizer Chiefs said, as quoted by TimesLIVE.

The club’s Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr added to say:

“We are happy to have a player of Inácio Miguel’s calibre join our team. We’ve watched him and believe his experience, skill and passion for the game embody the spirit of Chiefs and will add a lot of positives in the team.

“We believe he will contribute significantly with his talent and we are looking forward to working with him as he writes another chapter of his career in South Africa,” Motaung Jr concluded.

DEBUT MATCH

In what was the first game of the new season, Miguel was an outstanding performer as Kaizer Chiefs came from behind to claim a 2-1 win over Marumo Gallants at the Toyota Stadium on Saturday.

DECISION TO JOIN AMAKHOSI

Speaking to the media last week, Inacio revealed that he had bigger money offers from clubs in North Africa but instead decided to join Kaizer Chiefs.

“If I wanted money I would not have come to South Africa,” said Miguel via the Citizen.

“I had other options in North Africa for much more money, but the project was not the same.

“The project of Kaizer Chiefs is interesting, it is a process over a long time,” added Miguel.

“They are a massive club, and I have had a very good idea since the first day of talking to management, that everything in the structure and the environment can make them very competitive. The goals the club wants to achieve in the future made me move here,” the new Kaizer Chiefs defender added.
