Kaizer Chiefs are set to bring in new players in January and with an increased budget, expect quality signings.
So far, the club has signed the likes of Inacio Miguel, Rushwin Dortley and Gaston Sirino this season. The trio have excelled under new coach Nasreddine Nabi.
According to a Soccer Laduma insider, Chiefs are looking to increase their budget for January in order to add more quality to the team. The club’s head of scouts is reportedly working Nabi to identify players that can fit into the team.
Kaizer Chiefs to go big during January transfer window
“Even if new players come on board in January the coach still wants to cut down the squad to a manageable one, and they are looking at all the players to either be loaned out or to be permanently sold in January as he wants to keep the players happy and have a more competitive nature at the club,” the insider told Soccer Laduma.
“So as much as there is a budget for the head of scouting in January there will still be players leaving.”
Kaizer Chiefs could sign several players they were linked with before the transfer window closed in September. The players include Asanele Velebayi, Fiston Mayele, Fawaaz Basadien, and Oswin Appollis.
The likes of Tebogo Potsane and Sibongiseni Mthethwa have not played much under the Nabi and could face an exit soon. The January transfer window gives Nabi and Kaizer Chiefs another chance to add and improve their squad this season.
