Kaizer Chiefs are known to have an indifferent reputation when it comes to their legends off the field.
While an incredible amount of former players are hired by Chiefs, others, may claim to be neglected by the club.
The likes of Doctor Khumalo, Ace Khuse and Arthur Zwane have even sat in the dug out as head coaches. The likes of Jimmy Jambo and David Mathebula are currently coaches in the youth structures of the club. Additionally Gerald Sibeko has been the first team manager for a very long time after his playing days. On the flip side, the likes of Thabo Mooki and Junior Khanye are thought to be disgruntled.
Maphike was servince as Education Officer
Mooki, a legendary midfielder is still waiting for his testimonial which was promised to him. This after he dedicated his entire football career to the club. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, yet another legend is set to severe ties with Chiefs. This in the form of Ntsie Maphike, who has been serving as an Education Officer at the club.
“For now we can’t exactly say what happened but Teargas (Ntsie Maphike) is no longer at the club. They asked him not to report for duty again. Yes, you can say he was relieved of his duties. He is a lawyer, so you should know that and he can get better jobs with his teaching qualifications as well. So, maybe the club is giving him the chance to spread his wings and explore other avenues. But, yes, he is no longer employed by the club,” said one source.
Another source was more blunt, saying Maphike was told by Chiefs that they don’t need him anymore.
Now let go by Chiefs
“He (Maphike) was really helpful in terms of preparing the players education wise. As an education officer he helped players with both their football careers and also educational information outside football. But it’s believed the club told him that they don’t need his services anymore and hence they released him from his duties despite him being the fitting person for that position as he is an educator, a lawyer and a Kaizer Chiefs legend,” said the source.
