Kaizer Chiefs will travel to Durban to face AmaZulu in their second match of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership on Wednesday.
Amakhosi come into the match following their 2-1 win against Marumo Gallants at a sold-out Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein. Usuthu on the other hand, lost away to Polokwane City by a similar scoreline. The KZN side will look to get their league campaign back on track with a win against a much improved Kaizer Chiefs side.
AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs have played 44 times since 1996
The two teams have met 44 times in the PSL era which started in 1996/97 and Amakhosi hold a sway having won 26 matches, with AmaZulu claiming 5 victories, while 13 clashes were drawn. The Glamour Boys go into the match as favourites and will eye their second successive win of the campaign.
New Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi will be without some players for the AmaZulu clash. Edmilson Dove and George Matlou, are still on the sidelines while the likes of Bongani Sam appear to have recovered.
The Soweto giants have signed seven players during the transfer window which includes the likes of Inacio Miguel and Gaston Sirino. The two have impressed last weekend against Gallants in Bloemfontein.
When will the two teams play?
The 45th meeting between Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu will take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Wednesday, 25 September. Kickoff is set for 19:30 and tickets are still available for Wednesday’s anticipated clash.
