The new number 20 shirt for Kaizer Chiefs……

Kaizer Chiefs have been very active in the 2024/25 transfer market as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, with the club having endured one of their most disappointing seasons in recent memory, finishing 10th in the 2023/24 season.

We recently examine their recent transfer activity and their constant rumors concerning the arrival of players and the departure of Naturan.

Last season, the leaders missed 30 goals (5 more than they scored) in their league campaign. It seems to be the team area that NASREDDIN NABI tried to strengthen.

They took Rashvin Dortley (Central Defender) and left Bongani Sam from Rivaux d’Orlando pirates. To bolster their attacking options, Chiefs have signed Uruguayan winger Gaston Sirino from reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns, and have also been linked with a more defensive player, with central defenders Ismail Olivier Toure (Stellenbosch FC) and Inacio Miguel (Petro de Luanda) reportedly also being linked with the club.

The Uruguayan, who is currently 33 years old (he will turn 34 in February 2025), will join Mamelodi Sundowns as a free agent. He has spoken about his desire to move away from the champions for the past few seasons and it’s easy to see why

He has not played a game of football since the 2020/21 season, has not started more than 12 league games and last season was his worst since his PSL debut in 2017/18. He is still regarded as one of the most technically talented players in South Africa and Chiefs fans will be hoping that his best days are not yet behind him.
