The injury expert has evaluated his fitness record in light of reports connecting him to a move away from Elland Road this summer.
On 16 July, the Daily Mail reported that the Toffees had made a £15 million approach for the Italy international, which was turned down.
Brar, a Physical Therapist and Sports Scientist, told MOT Leeds News exclusively on Gnonto, “Based on his injury history and playing record, I wouldn’t anticipate the medical being an issue unless there’s some outlier issue.” In terms of physicality, I don’t believe that height determines physicality.
“That will depend more on his playing style and how he accepts or delivers contact.
“He has relatively had a good fitness record at Leeds since he joined.”
Gnonto moved to Leeds last summer and has not been among the first names on the team sheet for the club.
After impressing for the under-21s, he had to work his way up to the first team.
The Italian was not even the Whites’ first option and was only signed after they failed to meet their final ambitions.
His future, however, is in risk due to Leeds’ relegation and Premier League clubs showing interest in his talents.
In other Leeds United news, an update on the club’s pursuit of two centre-backs this summer has emerged, with a winger also on the club’s radar.
