Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Manor Solomon as the winger closes in on a move to Leeds United.
It was earlier reported that the winger had turned down a formal bid from Getafe as he preferred to stay in England.
Romano had reported interest from Leeds, suggesting that a move in the final days could happen. But since then, there have been some major developments as the deal now appears to be in the ‘final stages’.
The transfer expert shared the news on Twitter, stating that the player is set to move to the Championship club, with a medical scheduled for today.
He shared the following update on X:
“Manor Solomon set for medical tests at Leeds United on Saturday. He’s leaving Spurs after rejecting bid from Getafe as England has always been his priority. Deal at final stages with LUFC.”
He has followed that up with another update confirming that the player is currently undergoing his medical with Leeds ahead of a loan move.
Solomon joined Tottenham last summer on a free transfer, benefiting from FIFA’s extended compensation rules for foreign players from Ukrainian leagues due to their war with Russia.
However, his debut season at the club was marred with injuries. A meniscus injury in his right knee sidelined him from October until July, with initial surgery followed by a second minor procedure that further delayed his return to action.
A move to Leeds will be beneficial for all parties involved. Tottenham will be able to offload another fringe player while Leeds will have signed a quality winger to replace Summerville.
