Leeds United made a return to winning ways with a fairly comfortable 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers.
The Whites did not put the game to bed until the 95th minute but never really looked in danger of losing their lead, despite not being at their best themselves.
Jayden Bogle was actually Leeds’ biggest threat in attack and got his just reward when he found himself in the right place at the right time to scramble home from close range.
Bogle came closest to doubling Leeds’ lead in a second half that Daniel Farke‘s side dominated without really creating too much until Joel Piroe finally showed the level of composure needed to make it two.
Farke now has a two-week international break to recharge some of the batteries of those who won’t be going away with their respective countries.
Leigh Bromby makes prediction about Manor Solomon at Leeds
One of the players who will be going away over the next week or so is Manor Solomon, who was brought in for his first start in two months.
Solomon has been criticised for his performances off the bench lately but did look a lot brighter at Millwall in midweek and so a start was just reward against QPR.
However, Solomon unfortunately once again struggled to make an impact, with the dynamic of him and Sam Byram down that left-wing failing to work at all.
Former Leeds defender Leigh Bromby gave his verdict on Solomon’s performance post-match on BBC Radio Leeds, and still believes he can be a big player at Elland Road despite being ‘miles off it’ right now.
He said: “I think he will suit how Leeds play. He is a very attacking player, I think he will score some goals. At the moment, he looks miles off it. That’s being honest, that’s what people are saying, and you can see that.
“But I think the plan for him would be after Christmas he becomes that real key player for Leeds because he has shown before in the Premier League at the top level that he can score goals, that he can create chances for other people.”
Daniel Farke’s verdict on Solomon display
Farke acknowledged after Leeds’ draw at Bristol City recently that things were not quite working out for Solomon at the moment.
He was once again to provide his verdict on Solomon’s display in his post-match press conference, insisting he is a player he maintains full belief in.
He said: “I believe in my whole group, and it’s important to make sure the player, after a long injury comes into his rhythm, His first start, necessary.
“James and Piroe with third game in seven days, invested a lot. Early hours of Thursday morning, not proper sleep. James long time out. Didn’t want to risk him. Chose to rotate a little.”
