Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville has given his reaction to the departure of Glen Kamara, who joined Rennes on Tuesday 16 July.
In a short and sweet response to Kamara’s move being confirmed on his Instagram story (16 July), Summerville used his initials followed by a positive emoji to convey his joy for the Finnish international.
The transfer comes less than a year after Kamara first made his way to Elland Road on a permanent deal from Rangers.
Is Crysencio Summerville next to exit Leeds United?
While Summerville may be happy for Kamara, a lot of Leeds United fans are fearing the worst when it comes to the 22-year-old’s future with the club.
Although Brighton are no longer believed to be in the running (Fabrizio Romano, 13 July) there’s still every chance that other top-flight sides will make a push, with Rennes also keeping an eye (Foot Mercato).
There was always a strong possibility that Leeds would suffer during the transfer window after failing to gain promotion to the Premier League last season.
However, this is still going to sting pretty notably.
While Kamara was a rock in the middle of the park at times, Summerville managed to score 19 goals to go alongside nine assists in the Championship during the 2023/24 campaign (FBref).
Of course, even if he does leave, Leeds can certainly rebuild once again in his absence. With that being said, the quality of English football’s second tier only seems to be getting better and better.
