BREAKING NEWS: Fabulous £49k-a-week star identified as Glen Kamara replacement rebuffs Leeds United move

Leeds United and Stade Rennais confirmed the sale of midfielder Glen Kamara on Tuesday night and there is more bad news for Leeds fans, as his replacement is not interested in a move to Leeds.

Kamara’s exit comes as a bit of a surprise at Leeds given he only joined the club from Rangers less than a year ago. But after 42 games for Leeds and failure to get promoted, Kamara has left for an £8.5m fee.

In terms of Profit & Sustainability Rules, it is a great move for Leeds. It sees The Whites double their initial outlay on a player in his late twenties, when his resale potential might not have been considered high.

A sixth permanent sale made by Leeds this summer, after Archie Gray, Charlie Cresswell, Diego Llorente, Marc Roca and Kris Klaesson have all been sold. But it leaves a gaping hole in Daniel Farke’s midfield.

Leeds identify Tottenham man as replacement but, bad news

Leeds had tried to sign Oliver Skipp from Tottenham in talks with Spurs that saw Gray head to North London, and Joe Rodon the other way. Spurs rejected the potential of including Skipp in the transfer.

But with Kamara leaving, reports suggested Leeds would go back in for the “fabulous” Tottenham star and suggest a loan-to-buy move. Skipp has struggled for game time under Ange Postecoglou in the last year.

However, Skipp has not moved the goalposts. TeamTalk report that Skipp is not interested in a move to Leeds and would reject any bids made given it would see the £49k-a-week ace drop to the second tier.
