Daniel Farke has been speaking in Thursday’s press conference ahead of Saturday’s Championship showdown between Leeds United and Burnley, after the first international break.
Farke has had to endure a difficult week in which his international players have returned in drips and drabs. At one point, the German manager claims he only had eight outfield players available in training.
The likes of Brenden Aaronson, Mateo Joseph, Wilfried Gnonto, Junior Firpo and others were in action as recently as Tuesday night and the early hours of Wednesday morning, limiting their Leeds game time.
Manor Solomon and Ao Tanaka have also been in action and Farke says that the duo, who represented Israel and Japan during the break, will only be able to join team training on Friday ahead of Saturday.
Farke bemoans Tanaka and Solomon return ahead of Burnley
Solomon is already becoming quite a key player at Leeds despite only playing once. The Israel skipper sparkled on debut and with Farke confirming Dan James is out for four weeks, Solomon is now crucial.
He will surely start on the left if Farke believes he is not overly fatigued from his exertions with Israel. Indeed, he played only his second and third games in 12 months with his country in the last week.
Farke said: “Manor Solomon and Ao Tanaka, they have to leave straight away without one training session. Then one training session tomorrow for one day before a game, not easy or not great.
“It’s always tricky because you can only train tomorrow. They play with different set-ups, different principles, it’s always tricky. It’s a good problem to have, we have many international players,” he said.
With James injured, how could Leeds start in attack on Saturday
Surely, Solomon gets a start on the left for a second successive match in a row after starring against Hull. In the 10 role, Brenden Aaronson will surely continue given Farke feels he is the club’s only natural 10.
That is again, if Aaronson is not tired given he played in the early hours of the Wednesday morning for the United States. On the right, Wilfried Gnonto surely starts though Largie Ramazani is also an option.
Ramazani claims he can play anywhere in attack, even up top but the Belgian may have to remain on the bench before Farke hands him a start. Solomon starred in his only career appearance against Burnley.
