Daniel Farke has shared a disappointing injury update on his Leeds United squad to face Coventry City.
Despite having a full week of preparation for the game, Leeds have been nursing a few knocks this week on the back of the win at Cardiff City.
Leeds were without a number of players for that game in South Wales with Manor Solomon, Dan James and Max Wober all absent from the squad completely.
Solomon was nursing a back issue, while James is still on the road to recovery from his hamstring injury that is likely to see him return after the international break.
Wober is the one where there is more uncertainty, with the Leeds defender potentially needing to undergo surgery due to an ongoing knee problem.
Farke issues update on Manor Solomon ahead of Leeds vs Coventry
There had been some hope Solomon would be available this weekend given it was touch and go he would make Cardiff.
Solomon’s quality was a miss last weekend, with Neil Redfearn having already labelled him too good for the Championship.
That said, Largie Ramazani was his replacement and marked his full debut with a goal, and could well get another opportunity from the start at Elland Road.
That is because the ‘really good‘ Solomon is now suffering from a fresh injury issue, with Farke telling his pre-match press conference he has some problems with his hamstring.
He said: “Sadly we have a few injury updates and also some problems this week. Manor Solomon is out for this game. Had some back problems, has resulted in problem with his hamstring. Hope to have him back for the last game before the international break, perhaps for Norwich.”
Solomon already proving Leeds doubters right
There is no doubt Solomon is a top player at this level when he is, but the problem is, it’s looking like he won’t be very often.
Solomon went almost a year without competitive football due to injury until his full Leeds debut against Hull City. A matter of weeks later, he is already struggling again.
The 25-year-old started four matches in just over two weeks for club and country earlier this month. That treatment is looking more and more daft.
Leeds are going to have manage him carefully when he does get back fit otherwise it’s going to be a similar story all season.
