Leeds United are likely to recoup around £10million for Brenden Aaronson during the summer transfer window, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The outlet reported on its website on Friday (19 April) that the Whites will likely take a major loss on the American international if he is sold this summer having joined the ranks at Elland Road in a deal worth upwards of £25million.
Aaronson has struggled to make an impact whilst on loan at Union Berlin in the Bundesliga this season, but his age and length of contract mean that Daniel Farke’s side could still sell him for around £10million this summer.
Will Brendan Aaronson leave Leeds United and Elland Road in the January transfer window?
Leeds United need a clearout this summer, particularly of their players currently on loan, especially after news emerged that the Whites still owe around £190million in transfer fees according to their latest accounts.
So many players jumped ship from Elland Road on a temporary basis following Leeds’ relegation from the Premier League last season. While that solved the problem temporarily, all those starts will return to Yorkshire come the end of the season.
Aaronson has struggled both in the Premier League and the Bundesliga over the last two years and while that will see his price fall ahead of the summer transfer window, Leeds have to do everything they can to get him off of their books.
The American international has shown that he isn’t cut out for the English game. While it will be disappointing to take a near £15million hit on the midfielder after only two years, they need his wages out of Elland Road.
Hopefully, Farke and his recruitment team will be able to find somebody willing to pay that fee when the transfer window opens this summer.
