Don Goodman has no sympathy for Daniel Farke after Leeds United development

Don Goodman has “no sympathy” for Daniel Farke after another hectic summer of transfer activity at Leeds United.

The Whites saw a number of key men leave and others come in at Elland Road, right up until the closing stages of the window on 30 August.

Farke therefore had to adapt and integrate new players into his line-up game-by-game, but Goodman insists that is the nature of the job.

“He’s the manager of Leeds United so I have no sympathy for him whatsoever,” Goodman told MOT Leeds News.

“He will be thrilled that he’s the manager of such an esteemed football club and will understand they have to be at the top of the Championship.

“After missing out last season with a record-breaking number of points for a team not to go up, he will know fully what the job is this time around.

“I’m sure Daniel Farke is more than comfortable in these shoes he’s walking in.”

Daniel Farke now has settled Leeds United team to choose from

Losing players early in the transfer window is one thing, as was the case with Archie Gray, but seeing someone such as Georginio Rutter depart with the season already underway is another matter entirely.

Farke has had to adapt, but the window is now closed for another few months and the German can finally pick a settled XI.

Leeds named an unchanged line-up for the 1-0 loss to Burnley at the weekend, although changes are now expected on the basis of that performance.

Even accounting for the players who have left, this United squad is still incredibly talented and very well stocked.

It is now down to Farke to work with what he has, with the likely option of strengthening further in January, in order to achieve his aim of taking the Whites back into the Premier League.
