DONE DEAL: Blackpool Football Club finally sign Tyler Hill with the Seasiders holding an additional one-year option

Blackpool Football Club is pleased to announce that Tyler Hill has signed a 12-month professional contract at Bloomfield Road, with the Seasiders holding an additional one-year option.

The defender has progressed through Pool’s Academy since the age of nine, playing a key role in the Under-18’s North-West EFL Youth Alliance league title success in the 2022/23 season.

Hill, who is the son of former Pool defender Matt Hill, featured for Stephen Dobbie’s Development Squad last season, before gaining vital first-team experience on loan at Lancaster City and Nantwich Town.  The full-back also picked up the 2023/24 Under-18’s Player of the Season Award.

Reflecting on signing pro-terms, Hill said:

“It feels great to finally have signed professional terms.

“There’s been a lot of ups and downs throughout this season and my time in the Academy, but I have always worked hard and feel like this is the reward for that at the early stages of my career.

“I owe a lot to the coaches in the Academy who have helped develop my game massively over the last two years.”

Academy Director Ciaran Donnelly said:

“When boys sign at nine-years-old we set out a pathway for them and some fall away on that path, but Tyler has managed to navigate his way all the way through it.

“He’s had ups and downs along the way but generally he has performed towards the top of his age group all the way through. He’s been a top performer throughout his scholarship, and he deserves this year as a professional to try and prove himself.”

Elsewhere, Mackenzie Chapman has agreed a 12-month extension to his deal keeping him at Bloomfield Road for another season.

Scholars Taylor Bowen, Luke Findlow and Ezra Amadi-Emina have also had their scholarships extended for another year.
