DONE DEAL: Leeds United set to sign readymade replacement for Illan Meslier in new transfer

Dan Bardell has backed Leeds United to replace Illan Meslier with Marek Rodak from Fulham as transfer speculation continues to heat up.

La Provence (28 June) has reported that the Frenchman is in contact with Marseille and is “enthusiastic” about a move.

In response to this, the Daily Mail has shared (28 June) that Rodak is on a list of potential replacement options this summer.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “Leeds could lose Meslier and get a good fee for him then sign a readymade replacement like Rodak.

“He’s got plenty of Championship experience and isn’t going to cost an arm and a leg.

“He isn’t playing at Fulham so would probably welcome a move. He’s been promoted before so brings good experience with him.

“That deal is something that Leeds could look at, he could prove to be a success for them in this transfer window.“

Leeds United could replace Illan Meslier with Marek Rodak

The Whites may look to make some sales this summer to allow Daniel Farke to make way for some incoming deals this summer.

Although the financial situation isn’t as dangerous as first thought when promotion was missed out on, sales will still help.

Meslier has been a solid member of the squad at Elland Road for many years but found his top level in the Championship last season.

He was up there with the best in the division and it is no surprise that there is now interest in signing him this summer.

If he is to leave then the Whites could find an ideal and cheap replacement in Rodak who has bags of Championship experience.

He has played for Fulham and Rotherham where he has experienced both ends of the division which can only be a positive thing.

With Bernd Leno in goal for the Premier League side, Rodak isn’t demanding regular minutes and looks set to be available on the cheap.
