Elland Road hero finally gives Leeds Utd a made up mind response about clubs departure

Daniel Farke’s time at Leeds United is not going well, with another resignation announced on the eve of the new Championship season.

The German may have recognized the state of play in terms of fresh signings and/or players looking to go, but any action at this late point is regretful.

Players make their intentions clear during pre-season friendlies and training sessions, more out of respect for their existing employers than anything else.

Having deals go through right on top of the start of the season or, worse still, once the campaign is underway, benefits no one.

However, that’s the reality facing Farke and new owners 49ers Enterprises, as they plot a course to get them straight back out of the English second tier and up into the Premier League.

Some stars have already left, and more may follow. Liam Brady, the team’s captain, is on the verge of leaving for Saudi Arabia, which will undoubtedly disappoint fans and the club itself.

Cooper has ‘accepted in principle’ to join Al-Qadisiyah, a team managed by former Leeds and Liverpool player Robbie Fowler, according to a tweet from Saudi sports journalist Abu Faisal.

Cooper is yet another player enticed by the embarrassment of riches on offer in the Middle East, although no details on contract term or compensation have been revealed.
