Fans go crazy as Chris Sutton makes shocking Leeds United relegation prediction

Leeds need an even bigger miracle this time around after last season’s final-day heroics away to Brentford, when they welcome Tottenham to Elland Road.

Not only do Leeds need to beat Tottenham to have a chance, but they also need Bournemouth to beat Everton at Goodison Park.

Only one of three clubs can remain up this weekend, and the Toffees are in control, knowing that a draw may be enough to keep them in the division. Leicester and Leeds are both two points behind, with the Foxes having a stronger goal difference.

Leeds must win and hope that Everton loses while Leicester fails to win in order to survive on the last day.

Even if Everton draw, the Whites might still stay up if they beat Spurs by three or more goals while outperforming Leicester’s outcome against West Ham.

If Leeds do not achieve this, they will be demoted to the Championship after three seasons.

Chris Sutton’s prediction

Chris Sutton, a BBC commentator, does not believe Leeds have what it takes to beat the odds this Sunday.

In his predictions, he believes they will avoid defeat against a mediocre Spurs team, but only a 1-1 tie:

“Leeds manager Sam Allardyce has been driven to despair by how bad his team is at the back, despite the fact that he has only been in charge for three games.”

“That’s why I don’t see Leeds winning this game, and I believe they’ll be relegated.”

“Tottenham, on the other hand, do not deserve many accolades.” They’ve performed so brilliantly so infrequently this season that I don’t see them obtaining a win that would put them in seventh position and qualify for European competition next season.

It’s difficult to envisage us ending 17th on Sunday, knowing that we have a difficult game ahead of us, while Everton face a Bournemouth side that may be on the beach.

Everton should win the game at home, and their recent performances have shown that they are more than just us.

We seem tired, and we gave up in that West Ham game, so don’t expect a huge comeback simply because we’re at home.
