According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Luis Sinisterra is unlikely to make the Leeds United matchday squad for the match against Bournemouth on Sunday (30 April).
The Colombian hobbled off after only 32 minutes of the match against Leicester City on Tuesday (25 April), having just scored the game’s opening goal.
And Crysencio Summerville, who replaced Sinisterra against the Foxes, has been tipped to replace Wilfried Gnonto in the starting XI against the Cherries.
“Gnonto has featured nominally as a left-sided attacker this season, and with Sinisterra’s injury on Tuesday night, it is unlikely the Colombian will make the matchday squad this weekend,” the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
“However, it is likely that Gracia starts Summerville over Gnonto against Bournemouth.”
Fans are understandably perplexed as to why Gnonto hasn’t seen much game time recently, given his talent and the club’s critical need for goals.
While the young Italian may not be able to consistently find the back of the net, he possesses a creative spark that could cause havoc among opposing defenders.
The kid will want to improve his goal and assist totals next season, wherever he plays, but he hasn’t been given enough chances to do so at his present club.
Crysencio, on the other hand, has shown his potential in the last third at times, but he will want to do more in terms of goals and assists.
Manager Javi Gracia is unconcerned about where the attacking potency against the Cherries comes from.
However, given that Sinisterra scored the club’s only goal against Leicester, the winger will be a huge loss if he does not recover from the knock he suffered at Elland Road.
