Jayden Bogle transfer developments rises high as Leeds United hit loggerheads

The newspaper reported in its print edition on 17 July that the Blades want at least £7million for the right-back if a move occurs.

That is, despite the defender’s contract expiring at the end of the season, with current Leeds offers below the asking price set.

Leeds United shouldn’t pay £7million for Jayden Bogle

In all honesty, Leeds’ right-back situation is fairly dire at the moment as the club only have one natural right-back within their ranks as Rasmus Kristensen now looks to be on his way to Eintracht Frankfurt [Florian Plettenberg, 16 July].

The likes of Jamie Shackleton and Archie Gray have both exited Elland Road this summer and have left something of a void for Daniel Farke to fill.

The West Yorkshire outfit did have both Djed Spence and Connor Roberts on loan at various points last season but it seems as if their journey with the Whites won’t be continuing.

Although Farke’s number one priority this summer should be ensuring that the club have adequate depth in full-back, that doesn’t mean that they should be splashing £7m on Bogle, especially since he has just a year left on his contract.

Granted, the 23-year-old is still young and has plenty of room to develop but it still seems like a hefty fee which is why Leeds could set their sights elsewhere.
