Adding Largie Ramazani and Manor Solomon to Leeds United’s set of attacking options is a very exciting prospect.
Leeds‘ 2-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday showed they already have an abundance of talent in the final third, with Dan James and Brenden Aaronson both getting on the scoresheet.
Wilfried Gnonto was also described as ‘unbelievable’ by Wednesday boss Danny Rohl, while Mateo Joseph received Sky Sports’ man of the match award.
With those four, Solomon and Ramazani, Leeds’ attacking options are once again looking like a menacing prospect for Championship defences.
Ramazani is seen as the replacement for Crysencio Summerville, while Solomon’s pedigree would suggest his ability is beyond that of the Championship.
Beckford shares what he’s found out about Ramazani
Leeds have splashed out £10 million to sign Ramazani and so is clearly someone they believe has a lot of potential to be a real asset long-term.
However, there is no doubt he moves to Elland Road as somewhat of an unknown quantity for most supporters, having spent the last few years in Spain.
The only real judgement that can be made is from compilation videos across social media, something which Jermaine Beckford has been doing in the last couple of days.
Beckford was on punditry duty for Sky Sports in Leeds’ win at Sheffield Wednesday last night, where he was asked pre-match about the signing of Ramazani.
The former Leeds striker says after doing his ‘research’ on Ramazani, he looks as though he has the potential to be a ‘very special player’, but is not quite the ‘finished article’.
He said: “From the research that I have done and I have looked into him, only bits and pieces, he looks like he could be a very, very special player in the near future. I don’t know if he is the fully finished article just yet.
“The Championship is such a difficult league to play in, Leeds United are such a difficult club to play in as well because of the expectations, because of the pressure that comes with it, the incredible fanbase.
“So if he goes in, plays with number 17 shirt as well. He is quick, he is very quick, he is very neat and tidy on the ball, and he knows how to finish as well.”
What is Leeds’ strongest front four after Ramazani and Solomon signings?
With Ramazani having been brought into replace Summerville, he will be Leeds’ new left-winger. Gnonto should start centrally after how he played at Hillsborough.
However, it is when you come to look at Solomon’s signing, though a coup at this level, when things start to get a little bit difficult.
His career would suggest he is too good for this level but whether he actually gets into Leeds’ best team is another question.
Solomon will be fighting it out with Aaronson and James for that position on the right, and at the moment, it is probably the latter who gets the nod, with Mateo Joseph leading the line.
