Junior Firpo wants Leeds United to delete an Instagram post uploaded after the 2-0 win against Hull City on Saturday [31 August].
The Whites posted a picture of Mateo Joseph, who scored the first goal with the caption “There’s tigers and then there’s lions.”
Firpo, who assisted Joel Piroe for the second goal, has responded to the post after Ethan Ampadu tagged him in a new joke about the striker.
He said jokingly with laughing emojis: “Please Leeds United delete the picture.”
Leeds United are back on track after Hull win
Firpo’s comment on the post, emphasises the good feeling surrounding Leeds after a dreadful start to their 2024/25 Championship campaign.
Daniel Farke has turned results around at Elland Road with two wins against Sheffield Wednesday and Hull after a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup.
The German had been under immense pressure following the slow start to the season and with glaring voids in his side left by the departures of Archie Gray, Crysensio Summerville, and Georginio Rutter.
He delivered his promise to sign four more players before the 30 August deadline [Sky Sports] with Largie Ramazani, Manor Solomon, Ao Tanaka, and Isaac Schmidt joining the ranks at Elland Road.
The hysteria surrounding Leeds and the transfer market has proven to be a tad dramatic since the window closed as the strength of the current squad shown through in the win against Hull with Solomon and Jayden Bogle the only new signings to start in the win.
Now that the summer is over, Leeds can focus on the long and gruelling Championship campaign ahead and turn their attention to realising their title aspirations this season, which are now, after a slow start, back on track.
