Leeds eye Crysencio Summerville’s ‘phenomenal’ new teammate as West Ham open to his exit

Leeds United are expected to make a few signings between now and the deadline on Friday with Manor Solomon set to sign on loan from Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.

Having not signed anyone for a month following Jayden Bogle’s arrival, Leeds then announced the addition of Largie Ramazani for a fee of £10m out of the blue, the Belgian joining Leeds from Almeria.

He comes in as a replacement for Crysencio Summerville. But the Whites are also looking to bring in a player to cover the loss of Georginio Rutter, as well as a new full-back and a goalscoring midfielder.

Solomon looks set to replace Rutter but it might be that Leeds also go after a new striker. Reports say that Leeds are also in the market for a new centre-forward despite having four options for one role.

Danny Ings now on Leeds radar ahead of Friday deadline

Described as “phenomenal”, England international Ings is looking for a new club after falling down the pecking order at West Ham behind the likes of Michael Antonio and summer signing Niclas Fullkrug.

Summerville’s new teammate is ready to leave the Hammers and transfer expert Darren Witcoop told TalkSPORT that both Burnley and Leeds are in the mix for the former Liverpool and Southampton ace.

“There’s a lot of interest in Danny Ings. This one will come down to money, as it often does. Ings wants to play and isn’t in the picture at West Ham in the long term,” Witcoop told TalkSPORT 2 (26/08, 6.49PM).

“He’d be a good signing for clubs in the Championship. Looking at teams who have money to spend, you cannot look past Burnley and Leeds in the hunt for his signature. Leeds are in the mix for Ings,” he added.

What happens to Joel Piroe, Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt?

Mateo Joseph is first choice and won the trust of Daniel Farke, especially after the 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday where despite failing to score, Joseph won the man of the match award for his display.

That leaves Joel Piroe, Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt waiting in the wings. Bamford and Piroe are said to have interest from foreign clubs in their services, but the chances of Bamford exiting Leeds are unlikely.

It is much more conceivable that Gelhardt goes out on loan before the deadline while Piroe may opt to find himself a club where he is starting week in, week out. But Leeds would surely rather keep them all.
