Leeds have finally come to the end of there discussion with Steven Gerrard.

According to a recent rumor, Leeds United are in negotiations with Steven Gerrard about being their next manager this summer.

What is the most recent Leeds manager news?

The Whites are working hard to find Sam Allardyce’s replacement at Elland Road, with the veteran’s tenure ending last week. His hiring felt short-term, and his primary responsibility was to keep the club from getting relegated from the Premier League, but he couldn’t work his magic, and a younger replacement is now being considered.

A number of names have already been floated as Leeds’ probable future manager, with Gerrard expected to be right in the mix, despite a poor spell at Aston Villa. The 43-year-old is far from the sole target for the Whites, who are also interested in Brendan Rodgers and Carlos Corberan, among others.

As the hunt continues, a new update reveals Gerrard could be among the front-runners to take over as manager in the future.

Is Gerrard a front-runner to take over as manager?

According to Football Transfers, Leeds are in talks with the Liverpool great about the vacant manager’s position at Elland Road, but they aren’t the only team he is speaking with:

“In other coaching news, we understand Steven Gerrard is in talks with Leeds United and Leicester City about their vacant managerial positions.”

In some ways, Gerrard’s appointment would be an exciting one, considering his status as a famous football figure, having produced so much magic in a Liverpool shirt, possibly standing out as one of the finest players England has ever produced.

Having said that, the judgment is still out on his managerial abilities, despite winning the Scottish Premiership with Rangers in his first season in charge in 2020/21.

However, Gerrard lied to mislead at Villa, and Unai Emery has turned them into a whole different beast since taking over, demonstrating that he still has a lot to learn about managing. Some Leeds fans may be skeptical of his employment since they believe he and Frank Lampard are given roles because of their playing careers and high-profile statuses.

To be fair, he is still a title-winning manager who is still relatively young in his business, and he could see the Whites as the ideal opportunity to establish his value, demonstrating that Villa was merely a blip in a managing career that will otherwise flourish.
