Leeds United’s sale of Crysencio Summerville is expected to see the club throw themselves into the transfer market for a replacement, and the perfect option is available for just £10m.
Summerville, 22, is set to complete a £25m move to West Ham United. A deal that also includes add-ons that could reach £9m, if he meets certain performance-related milestone and wins a Netherlands cap.
Summerville’s imminent exit is not the only winger Leeds have lost this summer. Ian Poveda, albeit sent out on loan during the second half of 2023-24, has left Elland Road on a free and joined Sunderland.
Jaidon Anthony was a key part of the squad from the bench and the winger is back at Bournemouth after his loan. It leaves Leeds with just Wilfried Gnonto and Dan James with only nine days until the opener.

Gnonto is being linked with a move as Parma and Genoa eye the Italian, while Dan James missed the win over Schalke with an injury. He is expected to be fit for Portsmouth but it shows a lack of depth out wide.

Most of his goals came from the right wing, but his quality and the versatility of the Leeds attackers is enough to make him fit. Whittaker would be a brilliant replacement for Summerville, at just £10m.
