According to the South American website Soy Futbol, Leeds United are one of three clubs interested in signing Colombian attacker Julian Quinones from Mexican side Atlas this summer, with Quinones in the form of his life.
This season, the 26-year-old has 16 goals in 32 appearances, including one in the early hours of Thursday morning in a CONCACAF match against MLS side Philadelphia Union, which ended 2-2. He has also provided two assists.
That form has clearly not gone ignored. Last season, while on loan at Atlas, the Colombia U20 international scored 15 goals and provided nine assists in 45 appearances. Atlas then signed the versatile ace on a long-term contract.
Now, his form is attracting the attention of those in Europe. Soy Futbol report that Leeds want to bring Quinones to the Premier League – but a move to Italy is also a possibility. Torino and Sampdoria are also eyeing a move for him.

Quinones is certainly one to watch. An exciting player with bags of talent, that can play as a no.9 and has done to a wonderful standard over the last couple of years with Atlas – but more than capable of playing on either flank, too.
The problem for Leeds in attempting to sign Quinones is that he is under contract with his present club until the summer of 2026. Atlas will fight tooth and nail to keep him at the club. As a result, it will take a massive offer to persuade Atlas to sell.
However, he was not purchased for a king’s ransom by Atlas last summer, which may offer Leeds a chance. He is likely to be significantly less expensive than the crème of the crop in Europe.Benjamin Mora, his manager, stated that he is “integral” to Atlas.
