Leeds United and Bournemouth seem to have struck up a strong relationship at board level in the last 12 months.
Since 49ers Enterprises‘ full buyout of the club, the two clubs have completed four separate transfer deals in the space of just a year.
Like Leeds, the Cherries are also under American ownership and clearly that has helped facilitate a number of moves, which kicked off with Tyler Adams’ move.
A deadline day swap deal was then agreed which saw Jaidon Anthony join Leeds as part of the deal that took Luis Sinisterra down south. That was then converted into a permanent transfer in March.
Joe Rothwell’s season-long-loan then became the fourth and most recent on Thursday, but Leeds should look to utilise that line of communication and swoop for some of their other fringe stars.
Former Leeds target Max Aarons is said to be available again for £10 million after Bournemouth pipped Daniel Farke in the race for his signature last summer, and here are three others they should now look at.
Chris Mepham
The addition of Rothwell clearly shows Farke is keen to bring in some experience this summer and so it would not be a surprise if that trend continues.
David Brooks
Like Rothwell, David Brooks also spent the second half of last season on loan at Southampton, coming off injured in the first half of the play-off final against Leeds.
Southampton actually managed to beat Leeds to the signing of Brooks in January, but it looks very unlikely he will be moving back to St. Mary’s permanently.
Depending on what happens with the futures of Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto, Leeds could well be in the market for new wingers. It is said to be a position they have been ‘extensively’ tracking.
Romain Faivre
Perhaps a more left-field and ambitious option could be Romain Faivre, a player Bournemouth spent £12.8 million on last summer.
Bournemouth are currently stacked for options in the wide positions and so like Brooks, could well struggle for regular game time next season.
Faivre was actually due to spend the whole of the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Lorient but was brought back early in January.
