Leeds United expects greater transfer activity once Premier League clubs return from their individual pre-season trips.
According to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth, Leeds are mostly interested in domestic players this summer and may see increased activity after top-flight clubs finalize their rosters.
Leeds have only signed two players so far, both from Premier League clubs, with Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu being the first to come.
Karl Darlow is likely to join him from Newcastle United this weekend, but there is still a lot of work to be done on incomings before the window closes.
With that in mind, here are three Premier League players Leeds may pursue.
Archer Cameron
Leeds continue to prioritize the position of striker, and one man whose status they must monitor is Aston Villa’s Cameron Archer.
This season, Archer is likely to be second fiddle to Ollie Watkins, even before considering whether Unai Emery will attempt to bolster his alternatives up front.
Oscar Bobb
Manchester City seems to generate elite academy talent virtually every year, and Oscar Bobb, a Norwegian teenager, is the latest to come off the conveyor belt.
City have demonstrated in the past that they are not afraid to loan out their youngsters to the Championship, and after an amazing season in the U21s last season, senior football might be the next natural step in his development.
Steven Alzate
Another position at the top of Leeds’ priority list this summer is central midfield, specifically the number eight/box-to-box role.
Steven Alzate of Brighton could be someone who fits the bill, with his ability in possession making him a natural heir to Daniel Farke’s approach.
