Leeds United are now looking set to spend £35 million for the 21-year-old Barcelona winger

Leeds United are willing to pay £35 million this summer to get Barcelona winger Abde Ezzalzouli.

According to SPORT, Abde is one of several players Barcelona will try to sell to boost finances when the transfer window opens, with Leeds ready to spend big to bring him to Elland Road.

Abde is presently on loan at fellow La Liga club Osasuna, where he has six goals in 31 appearances across all competitions, guiding them to the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.

The 21-year-old has already made 12 appearances for Barcelona’s first squad, but was given permission to leave on a temporary basis last summer following the arrival of Raphinha from Leeds.

Leeds ‘would pay’ £35 million for Barcelona’s Abdelkader.

Of course, the amount of money suggested in a prospective deal will be totally dependent on whether Leeds stay in the Premier League this season.

However, if Leeds sign another left-winger, at least one will go this summer, with Luis Sinisterra, Wilfried Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville, and Jack Harrison all more successful on that flank.

While Abde is undoubtedly a highly rated talent, it also appears to be another exorbitant overpayment from the perspective of Leeds.

Instead of investing for potential, £35 million would be expected to bring in a winger capable of putting up consistent goals and assists.

Barcelona is clearly keen to raise funds for their own transfer window ambitions, which means Leeds would have the upper hand in this position.

They have also had little success buying from Barcelona in recent windows, so they must be cautious about who they are purchasing.
