Scott recently suffered an injury while on international duty, although it was not as terrible as first assumed. Despite their failure to make the playoffs, he has been a significant player for Nigel Pearson’s team.

Bristol will be tempted to accept any large offers that come their way with money tight in the Championship. Scott, then, may be Pearson’s ticket to investment in order to develop a new competitive squad.

Leeds, of course, will be entitled to recruit Scott only if they maintain their Premier League status.

There is no denying that Alex Scott is one of the Championship’s next major stars. He has been terrific for the Robins at times.

Pep Guardiola has commended him, which is the highest compliment you can get. Nigel Pearson has praised Scott as a ‘extraordinary’ talent, and the sky appears to be the limit for him.

It appears that a bidding battle will take place here. And if Leeds wants to fight in that war, they must just remain awake.
